Cloud application Integration
As more and more organisations look to embrace Cloud Software Solutions (SaaS), there becomes a need to have many disparate applications exchange information, enabling a “single source of truth” either for consistency, security, or simply to reduce data input duplication.
In order to enable applications to communicate with each other, the applications must establish a "cross-app data bridge" not only between SaaS applications, but also between (REST API enabled) on-premises applications and SaaS applications. This data bridge must provide a common data sharing/interchange layer across all applications, so as an example, users and customers defined in one app would exist (and could be updated) in every other app, and information retrieved from an on-premises application could be used inside a Cloud application.
One additional benefit this data bridge provides is that it can operate as a provisioning portal for SaaS services; IT pre-authorise applications that would appear in a catalogue, and users within the organisation can "enrol" for the application directly within the portal.
Additionally, through the data bridge, a business user can build a business intelligence dashboard, which will allow them to aggregate and display data from many application sources in a single pane of glass. An example of what this business dashboard could show is: Cash on hand, Monthly revenue to date and outstanding AP/AR from the finance app, all expenses pending reimbursement from the expense management app, sales opportunities and revenue forecast from the sales management tool, customer complaints, feedback, and digital marketing statistics from social media and CRM tool, team health from the HR system (number of people away sick or on leave), and many other valuable data points.
Though experiences with a number of SaaS integration solutions, the ETP team have the knowledge and insight to help deploy these centralised tools, create the data synchronisation bridge, and develop the business intelligence dashboards.
